Our family has long been enjoying weekends and summers on the shores of Lake Huron in beautiful Lexington, Michigan. It all began when Len and Pat Malloy retired in the early eighties and purchased their retirement home next door to Len’s brother, John.

Soon after, their only sister, Patricia, would follow them and purchase a cottage just a few doors away. As soon as we were able, we also scooped a cottage in Birchwood and so our cottage life began in 1993 with family and friends in this wonderful, beautiful, private and desirable lakeside community. We had three small girls then and welcomed our last child, a son, in 1997.

Our children grew up in this community with their grandparents and extended family, enjoying fresh air, the sandy beach, bonfires, neighbors, friends and cold clear Lake Huron.

Our second child, Jaclyn, had a special affection for her time spent here at the lake where she liked to run free with her dog, a Jack Russell she named Snickers. Jaclyn loved to swim and play at the beach always searching for beach glass. Her absolute favorite color was blues of any shade. We have thousands of pieces of beach glass stored in jars from the years we hunted together as a family!

It is our sincere belief that Jaclyn’s spirit lives on here and can be felt by all those who knew her and loved her and even , on occasion, from others who didn’t.
